Based on the original recipe of a love potion from the 19th century in France, the perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer dressed it with bergamot oil, ylang ylang oil, jasmine, lily of the valley, orange blossom, rose, plum, heliotrope, peach, sandalwood, ambrette, and vanilla.

Essence du sérail has not been tested on animals and is Aluminum-free, Formaldehyde-free, Gluten-free, Mineral oil-free, Paraben-free, SLS-free, Silicone-free, Soap-free and Sulphate-free.
