Beagle | Wood Aromatic
Collection: Destinos
Aboard the HMS Beagle, Charles Darwin penned his seminal text, On the Origins of Species. The scent of gunpowder and rum, mellowed by mahogany and copper, hangs in the air of the vessel.
The HMS Beagle was a Cherokee-class from the Britain Royal Navy. It was launched on the 11 May 1820 and was chosen for three worldwide expeditions. During the second expeditions, Charles Darwin travelled on board for his South American Expedition. He gained fame by publishing his diary journal, best know as The Voyage of the Beagle, and his findings played a pivotal role in the formation of his scientific theories on evolution and natural selection.
